Library files

Where to find the current Open Point and Social Point design library files — Figma libraries and Storybook.

Design work for Orbit lives across three surfaces that each do a distinct job. This page maps how they fit together and where to find the source files.

  • Figma — the design source of truth: the token, component, and pattern libraries designers build and work from.
  • Confluence — governance and process: Design System Guild decisions, the contribution workflow, and the reasoning behind changes.
  • Orbit (this site) — the living documentation and specs, written to be read by both people and AI tooling.

The Figma libraries below are the active source files in use today, ahead of full migration into Orbit.

Open Point (formerly Consultation Manager)

Figma libraries

Three Figma files make up the current Open Point design library. They are published as shared libraries within the Open Point Figma organisation.

To use these in your design files, enable them via Assets panel → Libraries in Figma.

Storybook

The Open Point component library is documented in Storybook — published online, no login or local setup required. Use the Controls panel to configure a component’s props and states, and the Accessibility tab to check contrast and ARIA.

Social Point

Figma libraries

Four Figma files make up the current Social Point design library. They are published as shared libraries within the Open Point Figma organisation.

Confluence — governance & decisions

Design System Guild decisions, the contribution process, and the reasoning behind system changes live in Confluence, in the Design System space:

Use Confluence for the why behind a decision and for process and governance; use Orbit for the what — the current specs, tokens, and usage guidance.

Migration status

Both product libraries are being progressively migrated into Orbit. During migration:

  • Use the existing Figma libraries for active design work — they remain the source of truth until a component is formally documented and graduated in Orbit
  • Check Orbit first for any component marked as Stable — those specs supersede the legacy library files
  • When a component is fully migrated, the Orbit component page will note it and the legacy library entry will be deprecated
